This blended learning course will provide the practical and theoretical knowledge and skills needed in order for qualified Dental Nurses to competently apply topical fluoride to adult and child patients from a prescription of a Dentist.

This is a short course for GDC registered qualified Dental Nurses wishing to extend their knowledge and scope of practice in providing oral health care advice and application of fluoride varnish.

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to deliver evidence-based fluoride varnish interventions to patients and also be able to provide the theoretical and practical training related to application of topical fluoride varnish as an additional skill for Dental Nurses.

This course is suitable for
This qualification is suitable for qualified Dental Care Professionals working in general practice, who are required to provide oral health advice to patients under the direction of a dentist and be able to administer the clinical application of fluoride varnish. Dental Nurses must be General Dental Council (GDC) registered to apply for this course and provide evidence.

As this is a correspondence course, at no point will the assigned tutor come out to visit the workplace.

Your assigned tutor is available to contact 5 days per week from 9am until 9pm – It is advised to contact the tutor for support, advice and guidance. Contact with the designated tutor can either via email, telephone, text message or also post. Our tutors are there for learners benefit although, will not put learners under any pressure.
